Big deal..
With every 1+, Galaxy, iPhone, Pixel device, there are hundreds of thousands of people trashing them EVERYWHERE.
Does that stop them from selling hundreds of millions units? NO.
There is no bad advertisement, just advertisement.
Totally not the case here. Pro1 is a niche device targeted towards power users, and most of them are reading the internet. This kind of advertisement is hurting the business.

There is no proof about any of the claimed, and sadly I've seen same user spreading those claims on multiple platforms and languages.

I was expecting that it won't be shipped in July.. but still there is that "wait" feeling, Maemish described it better.

Crossing fingers that my backup phone will survive until my main phone arrives.

There is no excuse to be rude in any situation.
My personal opinion as a business owner, is to treat everything with a good attitude, facts and a smile. Worked for me, even with really bad, false and unjustified reviews
Other than that, the biggest target group for this device is or was here, in this forum.
I don't think that anyone here will be discouraged from buying the device solely based on this guys posts!

And the question is why? I think just because he can and he he has fun in being rude and hurting other people.

And therefore suing him for libel is absolutely justified. If you don't stop people like him, they'll go on forever and ever. AND i would indeed sue him with a good attitude, facts and a smile

I'm not an expert, but i think it's just attention seeking. That thing is like a plague at this day and age.
But to be honest, it's actually quite easy to win the argument without any legal action.
You explain (briefly) how the FCC works and how it is affecting the (former) shipping date, and you took away his one and only argument.
I completely get chen's frustration, been there, but there is always a simple way if you don't let your emotions take over!

the issue here is that he is trashing person and his company. And no explanation is good enough for his maybe 2 valid points among 237846287 baseless claims.
I could also trash pro1 because it's not my ideal phone and there isn't one any way. But I also totally get it why it is not yet there. Pulling this of in the first place is a win for everyone involved. Being 3 months late is not ideal but considering that majority of projects never see the light of the day or are late way longer than 3 months and a lot of them are less complex to build than the slider phone this is actually still very "on time".

You are right.
But anyone involved could just reply only to valid points and let the users handle the nonsense.
And ofcourse when things get out of hand, there should be some consequences from the forum.
You give someone "a voice", some rules/guidelines to follow, and consequences if he gets over himself!

If you're working with third-party partners, it's not always possible to provide an answer even to valid points.

Sold my bike to have money to pay the pre-order. My wife is upset because i told her i would give her my Nokia 8 before i received Pro 1. Even after all this wait i am not worried and i keep saying to Chen and all Fx Tec team that they are doing a great work on making our dream alive

Ofcourse, but you can always say that there are some problems with "that", it will affect "this", and we can tell you more "then".
Man, I'm laughing just by typing this
Anyway, let's be realistic here and ignore the rest.
Small team, big project for a small target group.
You already know it's gonna be hard and there will be major delays.
It's up to you if you choose to support it, but always take every estimation with a grain of salt.
Regarding projects like that, most of the time people get scammed, they end up buying a product that is not even close to expectations, or they just wait so many years to get what they where promised.
In this case, we have a real device, a team that actually works to solve problems and over-deliver instead of under-deliver, and team members that are still involved with the community.
Isn't that good enough already?
