Well, not my own hand, but there seem to be a couple in the wild now: phones-coming-tomorrow-final-shipping-emails-via-u-kop316-u-azdle-pictures-in-thread. Maybe more will appear over the next few days.

Seems kinda of crazy, all this seemingly urgent reach for money. https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pa...=Librem-Server

I feel like they need to keep this phone under $900 if they want it to be more wide spread adoption. But seems like they are testing the potential users. More and more I'm guessing that most will go with the pinephone at least till 2021 or after they have been shipping a the final hardware for awhile.

What an interesting journey that the linux phone is on to come to market.

Video of Purism Librem 5 Birch in "action".

1. It gigahurts me to hear him say "gigahurt".
2. WTF is Selfish OS?
3. Gotta ssh into the phone to get audio working at first?

I don't know how to code, compile, ssh to anything, view or understand logs, trace bugs (only flies with a Raid aerosol in a closed room with not good result), config audio stuff or even ping (or is it ping www.google.com and then I get an ip? If so I can and feel like being a hacker!). I think this phone is not for me.

Your geek cred would be solid for life if you used a phone that, first thing OOTB you gotta ssh into that sucker and install a package for audio. For audio . . . on a phone. And who really needs a contacts manager, cause you got grep, amiright?

BTW . . . you might not be aware of this -- or maybe you are -- but you can (with an add-on package) use the N900's modem directly with the equivalent of old Hayes AT commands! You can literally place a call from the terminal. Now that's gangsta-level geekdom! So don't let that Librem 5 guy dis your skills. You still use the greatest hackerphone ever. <-I write this without sarcasm, btw.

With this phone I feel like a hacker - untill I read this forum and don't really understand a lot what people are talking about. But that is fine. My hacking doesn't focus on phones. Mostly been hacking my mind. But just had to reflash (with panic disorder and 3 weeks sick leave) and reset mind to default settings. Feeling sooo good after messing minds config file with hacks concerning accessing subconsciousness to use that daily as a tool for problem solving. Off topic ends.
