To make your life easier, there's a small addition to canola-tuning, that helps you to add podcast / photocasts / internet radios without typing or copy and pasting.

please install canola-tuning from the application manager and try it on the browser :

Just search for the feed icon, click and wait a little bit. Then you add.

This way, problematic in the previous podcast also works better : feedburner, podshow etc.

Hope you find it useful.

I had this a long time ago but I had no idea it was part of canola-tuning

Thanks again, you and INdT team never fail to amaze me.

Thanks! This is a great addition which simplifies adding podcasts. How does one add internet radio stations using this? When I go to a streaaming link (in microb) it sends straight to media player, a page such as http://www.sky.fm/mobile/?type=mp3 doesn't show the rss (add/menu) icon.

Unm, this are the kind of things that I don't think we can predict that much : /
but I will see if we can do this, also :/ but for now you will need to do the boring copying and pasting.

This is very useful. One thing I noticed, though, is that the "OK" and "Cancel" buttons seem to be in the reverse position from most other confirmation screens in Maemo. OK is usually on the left, cancel usually on the right.

Thanks,
Slip

Slip : sorry to say that again, but we are "Completely" opposite from maemo, and that's why we do fullscreen thing to do not "mess maemo up".

We do have basic concept, based on the basic semiotics of (left is negative, past right is positive future) so everything that is confirmation / selection / more will always be on the right... the opposite only on the left.

That said, it would not make sense to have back on the left and then a huge ok button on the left also. This is the kind of thing that would demand a lot more of changes, actually changing the whole thing.

I agree with this approach by Nokia on the mobile phones, because even with the semiotic aspect taken into account, the ergonomics aspect speaks loudly, because you do less effort to reach the left softkey / calling key, then to use the right softkey and the end key.

As much more of the use is focused on the positive side, it made sense, and I think it was quite sucessful for Nokia to do that.

The tablets for me, in widescreen orientation, are made to be used by 2 hands, so killing the best argument for having swap positions, and if you need to define a basic guideline for your work, and there's not a huge selling point for that ... you can go with the correct "academic?" way

Hope you understand our side

Marcelo

I misunderstood... thought the tuning update also worked with internet radio. Oddly, I cannot seem to paste into the url field to manually add radio station, anyone else? I had tried out an earlier C2 beta, and just installed this latest, but have not been able to get any of my radio statons to work with either version. Used to add/play fine on C1.

Was hoping someone could eyeball http://kska.org/listen/ and see if they could get the mp3 to stream in C2 .... if so, which url did you enter? I must be doing something wrong :/ I appreciate any help

chrisak : It does, but only for .pls files : / we cannot do that for mp3s, because it could that you want to download the mp3 for your to listen, it's not "demanded" that it should be a internet radio.

So can you point us more of your stations? we will add to the test list.

I will also try to flash my device today to test your feed i just killed it last night

There's been a couple radio related threads since posting here, I've been trying to follow them and apologize if I duplicating anything.

First, I wanted to mention I've confirmed I'm unable to paste to the add station//podcast fields.... only noticed 1 other person with this problem tho.
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...4&postcount=14
This persists over couple days, multiple reboots, and even canola reinstall.

I guess I've solved my iradio issue? Am I understanding correctly that I can only add links to .pls files? I finally got Alaska public radio to work after looking it up on shoutcast and using their pls file. Usually I refer to a backup of my media player's radiochannels.m3u file (media player bookmarks) to add stations. The bookmarked link for kska didn't work in canola.

Going to the http://kska.org/listen/ website to start from scratch, there was no pls link, rather http://kska.org/listen.m3u resolving to http://stream.kska.org:8290/ ((edit: I didn't try this link in microb, it would have ssavedvtimee had I did)) Neither worked in canola.

I looked up kska on shoutcast and was able to find it. I used their pls link in canola and it worked. Futher inpection found the shoutcast link resolved to http://64.202.98.51:8290/ which when opened in microb finally shows the kska SHOUTcast D.N.A.S. Status page with a link to http://stream.kska.org:8290/listen.pls which I now use in canola.

New York Public Radio site does give links to pls files, but Chicago's doesn't... they
have a m3u file like alaska. Chicago can be found via shoutcast but how to stream stations that are not listed there and who do not link to a pls on their site?

Thanks!
