Since CuteTube has been coded and published, I expect that YT API has changed enough to break basic features - or else server requirement for TLS 1.2 or 1.3 is just the only reason.

There is no simple fix: https://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?...&postcount=135

But anyone may invest more time on Maemo Leste https://maemo-leste.github.io/maemo-...ober-2021.html

It has been freemangordon who have fixed it (updated) somehow before.

Not sure if he has time or interest anymore. But he may guide how if someone is willing to give it a try. You can pm him.

Unless cutetube uses a well-developed backend (most likely youtube-dl or yt-dlp) you can probably forget about it.

That said, there's plenty of apps/frontends that do use one of those as backends.

A new client exists for SYmbian, it is based on java, so it can be installed in more OSes, check for JTube in All About Symbian.

It utilizes the alternative front end of Youtube, iteroni.com. You can also visit it with the browser, it supports more OSes and browsers than Youtube itself, so it can be a solution (I don't have any Meamo/MeeGo device though to test it myself)

Thanks!
iteroni.com also seems much more quiet, simple and less "conscienceness invasive" without crap moving all around.

I think the invidious API(a youtube frontend) stays pretty stable.
https://github.com/iv-org/invidious
there seem to be hundreds of instances and the system randomly assigns a partner or you can stick with one that works for you.
I have a few that do not use google video saved, I have not tried with the N900 though.
