We saw some photos from Chen but what's next? What exactly is ported, what's working, what not? Any progress from that time?

That was just a proof of concept mostly. I've published the scripts to build rootfs at https://github.com/NotKit/maemo-leste-fxtec-pro1-debos and can explain the setup if someone wants to take it on, but unlikely to continue much myself. The main downside is using libhybris and it makes upstream not that interested in it.

On a bright side, phhusson attempted bringing up mainline kernel on Pro1: https://github.com/phhusson/linux/tree/fxtec-pro1. Currently it only boots to console with USB networking, but with panel driver implemented, it could be possible to boot Maemo Leste with Freedreno.

I received a Fxtec Pro 1 device; will try to find time sometime soon to try the mainline build...

But I don't have a lot of time currently, and some of the userspace code will take precedence.

Wizzup this is awesome news!! Been hoping you guys one get one eventually. It was too bad that the virus prevented you from getting one during a couple of months ago during the expo. But hope you find the port easy

Cheers

Nice to hear that. The main reason I'm not using Sailfish is the base distro. I'm sorry to say that, I prefer Debian and Debian based ones.
