TLDR There adb shell commands within install.sh suggest that
/system/ path is read only. Is this a root issue?

This is a follow up to my bionic-clown-boot help post from the other day. I was finally able to successfully root the phone with root234.sh simply by editing the script to push files from my user directory (my mistake).

My main problem now is with install.sh

Files push to the phone fine, but when I run the adb shell commands like:
Code:
adb shell "su -c 'cp -r /sdcard/kexecboot /system/etc/'"
I am getting the output
Code:
"cp: /system/etc/kexecboot: Read-only file system"
This is happening with many of the shell commands.

Does this have something to do with gaining root access to the phone's file system? If so, how do I get root access?

I think you have to write command sudo to front of your commands.

Droid 3 is not in top 3 supported devices..but developers might interested in if there is another problem, to ask directly from them with Irc: irc.libera.chat, channel #maemo-leste
also possible with browser web.libera.chat
