Hi!

I have a n800 with hardware version 1202. Is there working updates available after initial release of of-2007?

I tried to flash latest 2008 with only kernel-, init- and rootfs images only, because xloader, 2nd and secondary images arent "valid for 1202", but it went to boot-loop.

Luckily it de-bricked fine with initial 2007 release.

Thans!

"1202" would be an unusually old hardware revision--probably a prototype. There's been some discussion previously on N800 hardware revisions.

EDIT: As for the OP, Texrat once provided a firmware update that might help you. T'was either beta OS2008 or OS2008 final, and from what he said, it was the same as the "normal" firmware of that release except that it could be installed on a much greater range of hardware revisions. If memory serves, he provided the firmware to someone else who hosted it for the world at large. Someone may still have a copy lying around.

EDIT2: I've located the post where Texrat wrote of "legacy" vs. "combined" firmware. For a 1202, you might find happiness with a "legacy" firmware. Unfortunately, Texrat may have only made the N810 "legacy" firmware available, and you may have difficulty finding even that at this point.

Are you able to say how you came about owning a 1202 N800 or write briefly on any differences you can notice between it and the more common 1301 N800?

Sjgadsby, thank you for your help, I'll check that out.

The device has been obtained from nokia for software testing purposes quite a while ago. It is a pre-production model which means that device is (afaik) made in actual production line, and therefore there's no obvious differences to 1301.

Cdmackay, hardware version is visible on boot if device is in research and developement -mode. That can be enabled with:
./flasher-3.0 --enable-rd-mode
