How do I make a playlist? http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...list#post35700
This post explains what a playlist is but doesn't really explain how to make one. Can someone show me a quick example of how to make a playlist.

As a side note, documentation is would be such a nice thing. I know the whole Nokia IT community is really small but some simple FAQ and HOW-TO would be awesome to have. It's kinda a pain to search for an answer among all the post to try to see if your question has already been answered.

Thanks

Code:
ls *.mp3 >playlist
There's a wiki.

Thanks for a useless reply. A wiki, great. Doesn't really help. And what if he doesn't want every mp3 in his list? The elitist attitudes on this board really suck. Everyone is faster to post about a wiki or search instead of being helpful. If you don't know, just don't answer.

I don't believe that feature has been added yet, I think handful has said that they plan to get it working by the full 2.0 release. But till then if it really matters, you can now play music by folder view, you could arrange them in a folder the way you like it. This is not the best solution but easier than editing lots of tags.

Well, "it" should work with playlists m3u if you just place it on the folder the audio scanner is running. Some uses say this doesn't work for them.

Anyways eric is right, we are doing the playlist support.

Hey, don't post just for that, just click the Thanks! button!

Perhaps you didn't read the OP; you know, pointing out a wiki that he might have overlooked in response to a suggestion of a "some simple FAQ and HOW-TO" seems so useless.

Well, that's not my problem; I offered what was requested: "a quick example of how to make a playlist." Since you brought it up, though, and declined to offer any guidance, here's an idea (no, two!): you could use a different glob pattern to match the mp3s (or files of any other type) he does want. If it's too complicated for that, you could use find.

Being helpful... just don't answer... Heh, not such bad advice. Looking forward to your helpful post here.

So let me get this straight. I just have to list the mp3 names/full address in a text file and that text file name will show up as my playlist name? Sweet deal.

And I didn't know Internet Table Talk had it's own wiki. I swear I knew there was so much information out there but I just couldn't find where it's at. This place is like information overload. It's hard to sort things out and where to look. Soon I'll get the hang of it though.

And by the way Fretwire, I've been using Linux for long time. His simple reply may not seem like much help but I understand the command and what it would do. If I was a complete Linux newbie I could see how his reply would be no help at all. Don't be too harsh on him
