The mh3 build hosted on maemo.org does not allow permanent disabling of toolbar and hasn't been updated for many months. This build fixes that and allows selection of charset (UTF8 etc).
This version still doesn't allow disabling of the scrollbar, although it contains a gconf setting to toggle just that. I would really appreciate a fix of it. (edit) thanks again jott! This command will remove scrollbar in a currently running xterm (not permanently).
gconftool-2 -s /apps/osso/xterm/scrollbar -t bool false
So if like me, you're sick and tired of undisablable toolbar syndrome , go to http://pupnik.de/xterm.html and give it a shot. It's saved me some frustration. Thanks to the xterm porters for the work (but not for the 'lets not release anything' policy) and thanks to jott for the build.
