Has anyone managed to get a windows workgroup networked Canon i860 working with cups and KDE. Do I need to dl the linux driver for it onto KDE-OS2008? I've been trying repeatedly to find the right settings... generic....raw smb .. http.. IPP I'm at a loss as to how to proceed.
thx

Thanks for your reply, the i860 is hooked to a windows computer on my home LAN. I,ve tried via samba using RAW and Generic [because there are no Canon drivers in the KDE cups install]
it is addressed as:"smb://borgbox/Canoni860"
This setup seems to find the printer it says it is ready to print but nothing comes out the printer.
Do I have to install Canon drivers in KDE? where? how?
thanks for your help and patience... 8-)

Yes I can print from all other PC's [7 of them running XP or Vista] but not from the imac, hackentosh [OSx86 10.4.6 I built] or Ubuntu 7.10 [again drivers a problem]
here is the log of my many attemps:
