I listen to lectures (usually multiple files rolled into a single, multi-hour long MP3) on my media player. I am planning on using the n810 exclusively and just keeping my old ipod in the backpack. One thing I really need is playback resume so that I don't have to manually search to location each time I start up Canola.

I started using Rockbox on my iPod a few weeks ago. In many ways, the Rockbox interface is a huge improvement over the iPod. (Not all ways.) Two of the most useful features for listening to very long media files are 1) playback resume and 2) multiple bookmarks.

What are the chances? Could this be implemented as a plugin/addon?

yes, remembering at least the last position should be available in the future from us.
But for your case, I would say that a custom "audio Class" plugin where you can listen to huge files, making bookmarks, resuming playback of several files and so on.

We are really sorry, but unfortunately we are not able (workforce) to delivery everyone's need. And of course we wouldn't do everything people ask, because that would be a hell of a messy application but I think your case fits well on the idea of "audio book" plugin.

If someone is interested in implementing it, we from the team can at least offer the UI design and icons / graphics needed for the job! (as we already have some ideas for this ready )

Marcelo,

I understand limited resources! I've been running Linux for years.

I also know that user feedback is always welcome by the really good developers, so I send you my suggestions/requests without any expectations. I want you guys to know that I really appreciate your software and I like it and I use it. It's great! Thank you for all you've done already!

I look forward to playback resume in some future version of Canola.

Maybe, someday, I'll look into the pluggin API and see if I might be able to hobble together an "audio book"/bookmark pluggin.

Thanks again for all you and the Canola team have done so far and are doing now. You've created a great package. I look forward to watching it grow up.
