I updated my mplayer to .26 from the .24 version. Now all of my converted divx movies play very slow and choppy, where as before they ran great.

I uninstalled the .26 and went to mplayers garage site where I tried to re install the .24 version, but when I click on the .24 version it always comes up wanting to install the .26 verdion again.

How do I get back the .24 version that worked grest?

Thanks

Just curious - did you reboot after the upgrade? I did (N810, OS2008) and have not had any problems...

I had the same prroblem, but only with movies whose audio was at 96Kbps. I solved it by adding the following line to the file $HOME/.mplayer/config:

ao=esd

Mplayer24:

I prefer Bundyo's build however.

I downloaded and tried to install it and it now it won't install.

I get the following message:

"Unable to install mplayer. Some application packages required for the instalation are missing"

When I click on DETAIL, it tell me I'm missing"

libmad0 (>=0.15.1b)
libogg0(>1.1.3)
libtheora0

Where do I now find these??

Thanks

Thanks for all your help.

But now when I goto install any one of those 3 deb files, I now get the following message: "Unable to install xxxxxxx. Incompatible application package.".

Ahhhhhh. Wow is this frustrating!! (banging head against the wall..repeatedly)

I guess the moral of the story here is, if it works fine, do not update it!!!

I guess I'm looking at reflashing and starting from scratch.

I also have a problem with mplayer .26 (I use it from a terminal): it doesn't detect the end of audio files (at least ogg files), i.e. as soon as the end is reached, it stops, just waiting for user input. I've just downgraded to .24, and could see that it doesn't have this bug.

It seems to play my divx files slower than the previous version here too; even ones that were converted for n800 use. Vids that played fine previously are way too choppy. I'll have to check on the audio rate...
