The new version works fine. The scrolling problem is solved. Pressure sensitivity is most noticeable if you choose very thick pen and try low pressure and high pressure with the stylus. I also clicked on a note file in file manager and xournal started and opened the file without crashing. There is still no icon on the left but there is an icon in the application menu. Thanks for your great work!!

I got that. I simply report the pressure value as read from GDK to Xournal, the very same way Xournal itself does when reading pressure from other 'pressure-enabled' devices.
So it should already work the way it is intended in Xournal.
Does someone have a Linux machine with such a pressure device available so that he can test Xournal on that machine and report back ?

There should be no Xournal icon at all on the upper part...
