No - like tires
a class 2 will let you go 2mb/sec, a class 6 will let your truck go 6mb per sec.
If you are not transferring data to/from the card your truck is parked.
It's when you want to move the load when it will matter. A class 2 will take a lot longer.

It's like two trucks, each with their own tire (Unicycle trucks? ); data transfer speeds to the two cards are independent.
