Is it? What browser is it using? I have a 770 and used the 800, and they are not as good as the iPod touch. Is the 810 really that much better?

well the resolution is one thing... more stuff fits the screen without scrolling.

Which is lucky as it is much harder to scroll!

Anyway, I just wondered if the 810 was really so much better than the 800, or if it was just a comment by some people who prefered the nokias to the iPod. I assumed the 810 was the same as the 800 with a keyboard.
I find the touch a bit easier. Yes, the resolution is lower, but the scrolling and selection is easier and the drop down list thing works well.
Really I don't mind either, and to be fair the 770 would be a bit better if the browser wasn't a bit flakey.

Ipod touch is incredibly elegant but not having a stylus is a very big deal if you need to do any graphical. When a visio type app comes out, stylus use is essential. If a Gimp app comes out, stylus use is necessary. This is why I got an N800. It's not as sexy as an Ipod but it will be much more useful as a productivity tool. I learn about the stylus bit with Palm and still use the E2 just about every day. HTH

Well, yes it is. I wasn't saying the iPod was better than the nokia, I wasn't even saying that the iPod browser was better than the nokia, I was just saying I prefer the iPod browser.

From my point of view the iPod touch and the nokia IT aren't in the same catagories (although they always seem to get compared here). The iPod is a brilliant music player that also does some other stuff, the nokia is a great little computer that can run lots of software and go on the internet.

I have both and am happy with both doing what they do.

I used my 770 for the first time in months (switched to iPhone), and I was amazed at how slow it is compared to the iPhone. Not sure what the real rendering improvements are with the 810, but the 770 took 3-4 times longer to load pages. I was surprised how much I have grown away from the stylus, and how clunky it felt. While the blackberry thumboard is hard to beet for typing speed and accuracy, the iphone is hands down a better web browser than the Nokias-- rotating and double tap to zoom in easily offset the larger screens of the 770/800/810. Would expect much the same from the iTouch.

But, if you really find flash games to be essential, it is WM or Nokia.

what OS's are there for the N810 besides maemo and KDE? ubuntu? any others?
