I'd imagine for hotmail, unless you paid for the POP3 service you'd have to find something like freepops (sorry can't help you there).
As for your second and third questions.. Yes you can still control a computer thru VNC. And no simple launcher has not been ported to OS2008. It works though, just no nice transparency..

ok well if someone has an idea for claw mail please contact me 
-I'm not able to receive my email from my pop account (hotmail)
Am i suppose to download freepops? I' can't find one which work with maemo...
Is it possible to use claw mail to get my mails from my hotmail and live accounts?
-I know it was possible in 0s2007 to remote control a comp using the nokia n800 with vnc viewer and open vpm or minimo, is it possible too with the os2008?
-Also there was an app called simple launcher for os2007, has it been ported to 0s2008 yet?
