When I try to install Erminig it complains about missing some Python libraries - and I believe it requires 2.5. i understand this... but is Python preinstalled on the N810? Comments on the PyMaemo website imply that it is not listed as such in app manager so how do I know?

If it is, I can use the updater on maemo.org to upgrade to 2.5. but that site has dire warnings that it can only be used to upgrade an exixting installation.

Confused...

OK, I've installed Python 2.5 from the Maemo-Extras repository in red pill mode; but the Erminig install still fails. It's looking for

python-gdata () | gdataclient
and
pysqlite

Neither of these appears in any of the repositories I have installed (quite a few).

Anyone able to shed any light?

Thanks in advance

Tim
