Instead of having to restart the the device.
Can a quickfix be done where restarting doesn't need to be done in order
to get mtpaint working without the constant pause.

On a side note - I'm also using openSUSE - 10.3 x86_64 and mind you the scratchbox is working without any problem, the installation is rather tricky since it tests if i'm running 64bit platform and quits. If you try to install it - look here:

Ubuntu here with scratchbox 4.0.1 :P on i686. I think using scratchbox on a Debian based system is easier IMHO.

But how come it cancels out on 64BIT machines?

On the devkit download site it says that scratchbox 1.x doesn't support 64bit platforms. However that's not entirely true - you can run it 32bit on 64bit machines

Code:
apt-get install libungif4g
in XTerm

or here if you don't have the repo (which is the main one)

thanks Bundyo, especially for the quick reply.

so I tried that... and i get XTerm to spit this out

Code:
E:Could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (1
3 Permission denied)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib
/dpkg/), are you root?
so i tried to go to the website you suggested but, wasn't sure which repository i needed. I tried the Chinook one... that seemed to have the lib listed under the package, but when i click the green arrow to install it just adds the catalog to my application manager, and then nothing??? It doesn't seem to install anything, nor can i find the lib in my "Browse Application" list.

I would love to see this app running on my N800.... if you could help me out I would appreciate it... also we could take this offline in PMs if you want.
