Pro: With a Nokia stamp on it, $39.95 (something like that); amazon.com $15
cons: it takes 10 - 20 days for shipment, or a notice of unavailable

I ordered 3, http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11397

Let me take a guess, see how soon before it dries up............2 weeks?

Oh well, did not read it carefully, if order more than 3, price dropped to $1.88, so, 3 X $2.40 = $7.20 shipped or 4 X $1.88 = $7.52 shipped.

Just an FYI... If the image that Deal Extreme has posted is the actual product then the sticker on the back of that cable is NOT the same as the one I purchased from Amazon. My actually says NOKIA in bold lettering and has a bunch of lettering from another language that I don't understand. I hope you didn't purchase a "knock-off" and if you did then I hope that it still works just as good as the "real thing".

Hmmm.... Just the thing I need; even if it's a knock-off, they can't have boffed the connector.

I'm looking to make my own battery charging-pack.

(For those interested, that's a 9V battery connector, an 8.2 Ohm resistor, and a 2mm connector tip, as I mentioned here.)

That's a nifty cable, but I will warn you that short length can be a problem. I bought 6 (without that shroud) that look to be the same length, and I wish I'd searched around more first. I need another 10 or 15 centimeters...

EDIT: no "that's what she said" jokes, qwerty!!!

For which purpose? To me it looks like:
  • Plug into a USB extension cable
A little flexible section at the end is all you need; the USB cable does the reaching to where you want it.
  • Hack it up and make other chargers
Well, you can add more cable if you need it, since you're soldering anyway. Short is good though, I think.
  • Plug it straight into a port on your computer
What in the world are you thinking????
(All free USB ports on my computer are brought up onto my desk with cables, anyway. Maybe for laptops, this makes more sense to be longer.)

Oh man... you got burned by dealextreme.

I agree with qole; if it's already gone, don't unplug it, put a ceramic plate under it and videotape it.
