I'm having the same problems.
Suddenly my N800 started doing this.
Reflashed and still getting this problem.

apt-get isn't working too.

I'm looking for a good explanation, and not some random guesses.

I have the same problem unless I disable the Claws catalogue.

Don't you want to guess that they should check their Application Manager => Tools => Log... to see what's causing the problem?

(Probably the Claws catalogue which mfortner pointed out is acting up today, though I'm just guessing, as there's always some repo that can't be found or gives some error which makes the App Man slow and unhappy.)
