I've been struggling with trying to stream FLAC files to my N800 with varying degrees of success. I keep reading posts where people are playing FLAC files with mplayer, Canola2, Mediabox, etc, but when install those apps on my N800, FLAC no worky. So, could someone tell me what libraries, programs, files, whatever, I need to install on my N800 in order to reliably play back FLAC files. So far I'm installed various libflac and FLAC files while in the red pill mode, but like I said, the results have been mixed at best (hanging, crashes, etc). I've reflashed my N800 to start from scratch, but that hasn't made a different either. I'm at my wit's end.

Thanks

Use dsp-flac. Installing this, it activates support for FLAC in built-in player and mediabox (and bonus, it uses the DSP processor !)

any tips on getting dsp-flac to install? I've tried 3 times and it always goes through the install and gives me an unable to install error.

Use the Red pill mode, Luke (or you could install it using the root account through a xterm).

I tried installing it as root using dpkg. dsp-flac won't show up in app manager even in red mode so I put the install package on the external sd card.

Nope, it still gave me the same error that it would not install.
