i have run into some more problems. i totally reflashed and started again and this time when i follow all instructions i get up to (mkdir ~/bin) it says cannot create directory already exists. this is when doing it for the first time. i carried on and when i get up to (cd ~/bin) it says cant do cd to home/user/bin
when i do (chmod +x nupgrade.sh tar) it says no such file directory.
after typing becomeroot and i type (./nupgrade.sh wipe) it says ./nupgrade.sh: not found.
please can someone help i do not have a clue what i should do.
i am still currently in x terminal and it says/bin #. where should i go from here?
(i am doing this on the internal memory card on my N810)

Has anyone done both?
I want to clone my OS to my 4Gb miniSDHC, set that aside as a backup, then flash upgrade and install rotate, then if that's working fine clone to my other 4Gb minSDHC. All without using my flaky USB connection.
Which method would be the best?

A nice addition -- especially for changing between a Flash and MMC boot -- is to be able to soft reboot.... here.
