I know no toolbar plugin for this, but there's the ip-home plugin which displays your IP address and the amount of data transfered over the interface on the Home page; also there's tcpdump and iptraf but those are dedicated console apps, although much more powerful.

is there a tool that display the network traffic in the toolbar? I found this always helpful see (at least on the Mac)
