Now I get upwards of 600-800 kbps on both my sling and hava and no disconnections. strange voodoo.....
I second that resolution!

Had same symptoms with the Speedtouch ADSL2+ router provided by Be here in the UK. Syncs ~9 MB/s DL / 1 Mb/s UL, but bit rate during remote connections was all over the place.

Then I heard how someone with a Slingbox using the same ISP as me resolved this by replacing their Speedtouch with a Netgear. Reverted to my Draytek Vigor 2800 VG and initial tests return a stable 900 - 1000 kbps.

another thing that can;t be ignored since the Hava/N800 uses a remote connection even if it is local is what quality your routers on both ends are.

I used to use stock Linksys firmware on a WRT54G and had all sorts of grief with it losing network connectivity and responsiveness. I had no idea that the router could crash under heavy load although some could be due to the oldish cable modem.

I now use a DD-WRT flashed Buffalo and it works great.

I had the same linky, and it would do the same, im an It person, and set up works lab at home (work from home in shorts yea!) had about 6 servers behind a comcast cable modem. When I transfered files (large) between 2 servers that had plugged into the linky, their ports would "lock up". I solved this problem (had latest flash) with puting a switch behind the router, and connected the servers to the switch...

if you have linksys routers that can support it, i'd highly recommend flashing the firmware to DD-WRT. it's linux based and rock solid. definitely several levels better than the stock firmware. it has turned formerly suspect routers of mines into reliable work horses!

Hey "HAVA Platinum HD" & "HAVA Titanium HD WiFi" owners, how much current does your Hava box need and how much current does your bundled HAVA power supply deliver?

The "HAVA Wireless HD" needs 9V 2A according to the sticker on the device.
Well, the bundled power supply delivers only 9v 1A and gets pretty hot.
Is this something I must be worried about? Does anybody uses the box 24/7/365 without unplugging the power supply?
Please add a comment or a smoke sign here to the HAVA thread.

Thanks Sorenzo

i've had my HAVA box plugged in 24x7x365 since I got it earlier this year and haven;t had any issues yet.

I;ll check the voltage ratings when I get a chance.

Thanks for reminding me, I keep forgetting to check my Titanium. Will report back as soon as I get a chance.

Anyone measured the actual power throughput yet, idle and in use? e.g. Using an in-line multimeter. I'll try to get a reading if I manage to find my meter.

Some reassurance / feedback from HAVA Support would be really come too...

I haven't been following this thread. How's the beta holding up? Is it to a point where you can use it on a day to day basis or is it real buggy? (Sorry, I'd look through to see how things are going, but I just dont feel like mucking through 14 pages right now.) Thanks

Hava player beta 2 is out. I am using it. How does that compare to beta 1? Dont know. Never install beta 1.
Hava connected to router Linksys via cable
Installation was successful on first try with HDTV.

Documentation is printed with font size 3. Yes, three, try to save some trees, uh?
Documentation is very skimpy.
Works OK.
Very little difference in resolution upon change from HD to analogue input signal, NOT fair . Screen size does increase to full rather than letter box.
Changing input signal requires physical change config at PC. That is NOT good. VNC comes to rescue. However, I can only change video input via config., audio input needs to physically change the input jack at the Hava machine. That will be difficult to do it remotely.
AV in general streaming extremely smooth. However, sync problem pronounced.
The machine does get warm even after 15 min of play time.

Hava Platinum on cable N800/2008Os, N810/2008Os/MMC Int Flash boot ~118$, no monthly subscription

the reason you might see little change in the resolution from HD to analog is because you are kind of limited by the connection throughput and the fact that the connection to your Hava is "remote" rather than "local". with a "local" connection, you are going to see throughput in the 2000-4000 kbps range. Remote connection for some reason never seems to go higher than 400-800.

is the picture better on your PC?
