I wish VNC could do something like this :

I don't think those guys would be interested in a N810 client.

A long time ago I had wanted to use a screen capture plugin with VLC and synergy, but there was a 1 or 2 second lag that I could not get rid of.

Right now they've got support for PS3, Vista, XP and a bunch of Linux distro..
.. so, after OS X, iPhone, Wii, Symbian and Windows Mobile, maybe they'll look at maemo.

PS: If only the NIT has a bigger marketshare to matter to these companies..

It seems with some tweaking I'm able to get vlc to stream with less of a delay (less then a second), and if I can figure something out with the screen capture I think I may be able to reduce it some more.

I also found out how to stream video to mplayer in maemo. It seems it may be possible to use mplayer as the video player, and have another program to handle the input, like combining mplayer with vnc.
