From what I know, the flashing tools are all unix based tools. The only machines I've got access to are running XP or Vista.

Are there any Windows based flashing tools? Would be nice to get a more reliable browser on the little toy.

There is a Windows based flashing tool, called "Nokia Internet Tablet Software Update Wizard" and it is an official Nokia program, downloadable from the Nokia tablet sites. The 770 page is here (download link at the bottom of the page):

Specific link to the flashing program here: http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/...ate_Wizard.exe

Also, one quick side note, I would try 2008HE, it works a lot better for me on my 770!

I didn't think that allowed update past 2006 though? The 2007/08HE are not "officially" supported on the 770?

I'll give it a go when I get home though

Are there any optional switches for the Nokia updater? Downloaded the 2008HE, installed the updater, but it just goes straight to the web to download 2006 ....

There is an option on the 'Ready to update' step to 'change' to a local file, it is under the 'To:'.
Browse to your file and it will use that one.
