If you uninstall the osso-software-version-XX package, when exists a SSU you will need to update with the red-pill mode (the packages to update aren't shown with blue-pill mode) or with apt-get upgrade.

I could be wrong, but my more-than-one-month with SSU updates does me suspect.
Oy... so since I uninstalled that along with the *-installer packages... can I get it back? I know I have been getting SSUs with third-party packages, could it be that system-wide stuff won't be updated?

only problem so far is that personal menu + large status bar clock can't install (application manager gives an "applicatoin package not found" error).
I seem to be having the same issue with the Large Statusbar Clock applet.

Why the big thing for Large Statusbar Clock, anyway? I find just regular statusbarclock does quite nicely and only takes up a single spot. (In addition, it switches between analogue and digital mode based on your settings).

Seems to get a lot less attention, sadly. I normally wouldn't mind, but this gives me the distinct impression that either I am missing something or I have bad taste in clocks

Try searching for the error? The solution to it is on at least a half-dozen websites on the net, and probably mentioned more than 50 times in at least a dozen threads on here.

Because the large statusbar clock is much nicer and easier to spot than the regular one. You do have bad taste in clocks. And mine installed just fine under Diablo.

is there no way possible, if you make your own theme to increase the size of the statusbar?
