Hi,

I do not like when Canola wants to be online and connect to website to fetch art covers already present both in file tags and local files.

1) Why can't it find my cover art directly through the tags ?

2) second, if tag decoding fails, I want Canola to retrieve the cover from my local directory. What name should I use when saving a local copy of the cover for one album ?

1) It can install the canola-tuning-plugin and then in the settings menu there should be an option for "Cover Arts" select it and choose the sources. If you only want to get cover art from the tags, select only that box and click "Update" -- Canola doesn't include support for this by default because of some licensing issue, so instead they add the functionality in through a third-party plugin.

2) I believe you should name it "cover.jpeg" That's what most of mine are I've also got some that look like: <name of album>-cover.jpeg but that's rarer.

I'm sorry these instructions are a little vauge, but my Canola isn't working very well 'cause I'm using the Diablo Python.

So do I. I recently upgraded and Canola is no longer what I used to have before...
I have lost all my so precious plugins. Very disapointed by all the mess implied by Diablo.

Yeah... the Canola team is working hard on a Diablo release though and as soon as they pull in a few more pieces from third party developers I think they're going to release a B0.9-diablo Canola.

The problem (as far as I can see) is with external libs that Canola depends upon, so it's not Canola's fault.

Max: Take a look in the canola-tuning-plugin . this integrated version gives you the opportunity to choose from where to get the covers, and canola indeed looks first on the folder, than the tag THEN goes to the internet.

if you place a file : cover.jpg on the folder of the album.

If you have mp3s that are not getting the covers , please send to us so we can improve the software.

For other formats: then it's not supported yet, embedded cover arts (id tag based) now only works in mp3s.

We need now ALL libs that are part of canola to be ready for diablo to things to be right again.
