Anyone know where/how to attach the little GPS unit, (looks like a small cell phone) that goes with the N800?

I have the tablet on the suction window mount but can't figure out what the heck to do with the GPS reciever.

Velcro seems funky and my wife won't go for duct tape!

Thanks

Hmm... well you want it to have the best possible view of the sky so I'd suggest as far forward on your dashboard as possible. Since its kind of out of the way there anyway, I'd say velcro would probably work and not be too unsightly...

you could also put it under your rear window, since that would help the visual appeal (or lack thereof) since the bluetooth range should easily extend to the rear of your car unless you drive a Ford Expedition

If you're not planning to move it around much, I'd suggest double-sided masking tape or double-sided scotch tape. Then the tape would be invisible and the unit shouldn't need to stick much to keep from sliding around

I used a small velcro sticky square and stuck it to my dashboard out the way. Cleaverly this also let me see the status of it by watching the reflection of its LEDs in my windscreen.

Alternately, stuff it in your glove box out the way, throw it under the driver's seat or leave it in your laptop bag. All these places have given me a working GPS lock, which is pretty good considering cars are giant metal shielded boxes full of RF interference.

Is it a bluetooth GPS receiver? If so, put it wherever you like. I put mine on a sticky pad on the dash, but I've also used it on the console, on the floor, and just about anywhere. If it's in a sedan, you can put it on the hatrack behind the rear seats, or if a hatchback you can toss it in the back. Do try to keep it right-side up, though, because the antenna needs an unobstructed view of the sky.
