I'm having trouble getting AvantGo v.6.5.216 to display on Garnet VM 1.0.1 Beta with OS5.

I set up the server, sync.avantgo.com:80, and can connect using AGConnect, it gives the typical downloading pages messages, and closes out normally. When I go to launch AvantGo, I see the advertizement, but when I go to the main page, It crashes out of Palm to the Garnet VM screen.

I did have this problem with a few other apps, but changing the Dynamic heap size to 4MBytes helped. Changing the Device Model and Display compatibility didn't seem to help, but I may have missed a combination. I originally had a Handspring Treo 90 with 16 MBytes, So I left that as my memory size.

Any suggestions on getting AvantGo to work?

It won't currently work. With the previous version of GVM it completely crashed the emulator, you would see that if you tried to start AG directly from the command line (through /usr/bin/gvm/gvm [options to start AG]), with a strack trace. I haven't tried starting AG from the command line with the latest GVM, but as the emulator immediately disappears I believe the situation is the same.

AGConnect works fine though, as you've observed. It worked with the first version of GVM too.

I've also tried GVM with very old versions of AG (v3 or something, IIRC), with the same problem.

Thanks, for the reply. I didn't think of running from command line and error reports.
