Just for the uninitiated, WorldTV99 and kmplayer both released/upgraded for 3 days, already has an upgrade, just use the refresh button and the upgrade all button from app manager, it will take care of it. How do you like that ?

Thanks bunanson for this great deb.
Can you please update following channels (Canada), using "mms" instead of "http", because it didn't work with http. can you check please if this is the problem or something else:

Canal Argent
Canal savoir
LCN, News TV

Thank you for the kind words.

Canal Argent and LCN both worked under either mplayer or media player. Usually switch to the OTHER player work make a channel run. Canal savoir does not work under either players, nor http nor mms. I am afraid the link is dead and would require some search work to find the more updated links. Usually, it is a detective job by going to the particular website and keep looking and use the right mouse button to decipher the underlying mms source. Yes, that is way WorldTV99 was conceived.

enjoy,

bun

I am glad you enjoy it. This is the single app I run everyday, and the starred channels are my favorite channels. What is yours? And please report dead links, usually every 2 - 3 months links die.

??explanations?? I am at a loss..... what are you talking about?

I don't run it every day and I haven't found any dead links yet but I do find myself either working or socializing with folks from many foreign lands.

The ones I have shared this apps output with have been amazed by the device... and I usually walk away with a better understanding of them and their native culture after having watched Albanian TV or somesuch with them for 20 minutes. LoL.

That makes it pretty cool to have loaded on my tablet.

This is one of those... "Your iPhone can't do that now can it?" apps (provided I have a bb connection).

Kudos.

I recently moved and haven't had the cable switched on yet, this app is great for watching a little CNN in the morning eating breakfast. Thanks Bunanson!

Canal savoir is now
http://stream2.canal.qc.ca/enOndes_bas_debit
works at least with mplayer, just 240x180 resolution (not stellar)

As bunanson said Argent and LCN work with mplayer (http:...)
(Argent doesn't work with Media player).
try Argent from x terminal
mplayer http://207.253.121.82/tvaargent
seems to work slightly better from terminal than from kmplayer

Thanks Ism.
Canal savoir has better quality using:
http://stream2.canal.qc.ca/enOndes_haut_debit

That's right, all http channels works using mplayer however using mms i get smoother videos, i don't know if it is the case of others.

I collected some Arabic channels (actually most known) in the attached file (I don't know all their titles but i add most of them).

You can add these channels (or others) in:
/usr/share/applications/worldtv99/worldTV99.xml

You just have to copy the included file wherever you want in the xml file but outside any <group title=..> ... </group> section.
Attached Files
File Type: txt TV Channels.txt (1,019 Bytes, 345 views)
