hello all, I was wondering how i can get around this problem i have when installing all GPE apps from calendar to file manager. Everytime i install it is says "Unable to install gpe-calendar. Installation file corrupted." I've uninstalled all GPE apps I have and all have the same problem.

It started with just the problem of the calendar (or summary) not showing up on the desktop. when I try to tick the box for GPECalendar it just shows the desktop again. But if I tick the box for GPESummary, the screen refreshes then my whole desktop is wiped out!

I know its my fault because this started when I was backing it up and left it to back up without realizing the battery's are empty so I guess halfway the back up my N800 shut down.

Sorry for the long post, just trying to give all info. I tried installing it from everywhere, from apps manager to maemo.org to the creators site as well (cobbs.uk.net).

Cheers!

I don't think this problem is "your fault."

I am having the same problem with corrupt GPE files and I have a newly re-flashed n810 running os2008 (diablo).

Hopefully someone can figure out the problem -- GPE is very useful for both the calendar and the to-do list.

I had the problem with the summary, it appears to be the version from maemo testing that is causing it. Hence to solve,

uninstall the gpe summary. Disable the meamo testing repository and then reinstall the gpe summary.

Disable the meamo testing repository
I don't appear to have a Repository called Maemo Testing, is this the name that appears in Application Manager or is it some other such as maemo-hackers or similar?

check installed applictions see what version of gpe summary you have if it is 20080114-2 that if the correct version. if you have the 20080772 that is the one causing the problem. the name is what ever you have called it but the web address of the offending repository is http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/

Not knowing any better I called it Maemo Extras-Devel.

Thanks for the tip, it worked perfectly.

Do I want to enable the repository again after this or just disable it? And what other repositories should I have enabled?

Thanks!
