Here's my 2 cents on why the GPS fix takes so long with Wayfinder (I haven't tried any of the other programs available). I noticed that when I start Wayfinder and before it gets a GPS fix, the map is fixed on a point somewhere in Virginia. It always starts up showing that area of the map. When I have used other GPS software like Garmin, Magellen and Tom Tom, the software always shows the point where my last GPS location was. I think that Wayfinder needs to modify their software to remember the last point that a GPS fix was made whenever exiting the software. That should remove the need for A-GPS since A-GPS requires a location to be input and would speed up the initial GPS fix (as long as you don't change location since Wayfinder was last used). This is based on the fact that with the other GPS software I mentioned the GPS fix takes much longer when your location has changed from the last time you used the GPS (ie flying to a new city, etc).
Let me know if Maemomapper, Navit or any other GPS software for Nokia does the same thing I mentioned above when first starting the software.
