I was wondering if there is some kind of ultimate kernel including all the cool kernel patches like the rotation support, highspeed stuff and what else there might be.

Or should I just go ahead and setup some cross compile env. in order to compile the kernel myself ?

Not sure if there is a kernel with rotation, high speed, and android, but qwerty12 has given us the first two.
