sorry if this is the wrong section, but I wasnt sure where else to put it

Is it possible to use the n800 or the n810 AS a headset
meaning taking the phone's audio and fully dumping it onto the built in speaker/mic of the n8*0

i was daydreaming about using another NIT as a carputer, and if that option was an option, that would definetly make me do it

thanks all

not yet. Its not natively supported, and a lot of people want this feature, and people are supposed to be working on it. There are a few other threads about this topic. Hopefully soon this will happen...

I too have thought about this - just to be sure we are talkign about the same thing, you want the N800 to be able to control a mobile phone (say), and for its microphone and speakers to be used as a handsfree by the phone?

Emulating the button is easy. Create an rfcomm listener which simply sends AT sequence.

Getting the sound to work might be a bit more tricky, need something to make the tablet emulate the SCO audio device in the right way, all the linux stuff I've seen so far suggest it's possible but stuff appears to have been written to access a bluetooth headset from linux.
