FYI: from http://www.kismetwireless.net

News:
Thu Aug 28 2006 - Kismet-stable-devel in subversion now works properly on the Nokia 770

"Fixed garbage network problems with the Nokia 770 -- the drivers report all frames, even invalid ones, but at least they include the FCS bytes. Added a FCS validator and linked it to proper checking.

Haven't tried to do anything with the panels UI yet, nor made any progress towards a Maemo native UI.

Great news!

Please post a link to your package on this thread when you have it available.

Thanks for your efforts.

Works great. I did have to manually pull in the ncurses-base package as you mentioned though. It wasn't handled automagically through dependencies.

It is great that the list isn't filled with garbage any more.

The problem of the wifi chip going to sleep when on battery to save power still seems to be there though. It seems to just stop scanning after a little while if the 770 is not plugged in.

Yes, this package need some changes: add dependencies, remove kismet_drone, remove sounds (or compile play and distribute them with kismet), set apm to off in config file. And test kismet + gpsd.

But, this is first working wersion . Next should by better.

I look forward to the next version.

Good job so far though! It is already a lot more useful than the OS2005 Kismet was.

Do you have a spot where you want testing feedback? Is this going to be added to one of the existing repositories eventually?
