OK guys right now I know HTML/java script, some C++, some PHP, and have a general knowledge of several other languages. I am wanting to write a program that pulls data from MySQL database for my tabletos.org site and show the data in the program. Also write data to the database. I was wondering what the best and easiest language for me to write this in. Python, C++? Whats the best? Also would anyone be willing to if not helping me with the program help me learn a programming language so I can't write it my self. I think getting the basic program out will be the hardest part once I get the basic done like the program connection to the database and querying information from it and show info the program will come easy then.

Though I do a lot of C++ programming, I find Python + Gtk very easy to develop and test right on the N800. Garage has a lot of python projects, which I used as a starting point. I think database you can use sqllite.

I agree with vabgeo that Python would be a good choice.
I have seen many programming languages, and did some academic and commercial projects in C++. But honestly, you wouldn't do yourself a favor if coding in C++. This language calls for trouble IMHO.
