Thanks! I just upgraded my pyAno and I love it

Do you mind if I make a small feature request?
As far as I can tell, the black bar shifts to the lower octave and the white one shifts to the higher octave.

Would it be possible to make them both white and then have one of them colored in depending on what octave you were in?

So, for example, if you're in the lower octave, the left button is black, and when you click on the right button (white), the piano shifts to the upper octave and that button turns black while the left one turns white.

Looking back on that I realize that I'm being clear as mud Hopefully I sort of communicated what I wanted to, if not, don't worry about it!

Thanks for a great program!!
That is an absolutely wonderful idea!!! Why did I not think of that??

This will go in as soon as I figure out how to get this thing into extras It's a pain with python...

Thanks a lot!

Alrighty!

- Bottom bars change color depending on octave.
- New N810 keyboard layout is much better.*
- PyGame dependency errors should be solved.

Here is my little update to PyAno. Version 1.1!

Enjoy! And add yourself to YouTube playing on PyAno! I just did Greensleeves... Badly I just want to get the word out there. (And, yes, that is 1.0 I am playing on. No color changes for the bars in there.)

*The keyboard layout is so that the bottom row (z,x,c,v,b,n,m) are all whole notes. If any of those notes have a sharp, that will be right above them. So...

A-----D---F-------H--- J
Z--X--C---V---B--N---M
-----------------------------> (Ascending)

That's the layout.

Hope you like!

(Oh, and if any devs could tell me where to put the large icon at, I would be very grateful. The large icons you see scrolling through Extras on the left. My icon is always small no matter the size I make it...)

Hi Aisu:

Unfortunately your pyano (and possibly pydrum) are causing problems in the updated tablet-browser-daemon script.
The tablet browser daemon checks for whether there is a /scratchbox directory, and if there is unsets a user variable that the browser needs to function correctly (see here and here)

Good news and bad news... Lets start with the bad.

PyAno and PyDrum are to blame for all the browser problems involving the low memory signal, I am very, very sorry

The scratchbox directory was not supposed to be in those debs, ever. It was automatically placed there when I packaged them. I didn't think to open them and check them over. PyDrum and PyAno have both been fixed.

Again, I am so sorry about any inconveniece!!!

Luckily, codeMonkey found this bug and it's fix. (Thank you, codeMonkey!) To fix the error, please run the following (as root).

Code:
rm -R /scratchbox

And now for the good news...

PyAno 1.2 is out

- Will not kill the browser
- Supports multiple instruments! (Up to three extra)

Get it here!

And, for anyone with a little time and a microphone...

Creating a PyAno "instrument" is VERY simple. All you need to do is create a "pyano" folder in /media/mmc1. Inside the pyano folder, you can place another folder, say, "Drum".

You just made an instrument. Now, in order for you to play it, you must put the wav sounds in it. The titles are...

a.wav az.wav b.wav c.wav cz.wav d.wav dz.wav e.wav f.wav fz.wav g.wav gz.wav

This'll get better in the future, believe me...

And again, I am very sorry about the browser problems. This will never happen again!

Its working now
just had an idea: As we now have pydrums and pyano (and we might more...) wouldn't it be a good Idea if we could have a menu where we could chose what instrument we want to use, something like this:

So what do you think?

Yes, great

But, I don't ever believe I will ever be allowed to use the trademarked "Maemo" in any of my apps. So, another name would be required...

Ideas?
