Right, so I have my N800 bluetoothed up to my Nokia N95. I have an "all you can eat" data plan, which means that data consumption isn't an issue. Streaming radio/video/large file downloads are all an option.

The limiting factor here is the bluetooth connection (i think). Video is a little stuttery at best "Buffering" a lot of the time.

So, my question is, can you or has anyone connected a phone to the Nokia ITT via a cable?

The phone often connects as 3.5g (HSDPA?) and it's the bluetooth that is driving me up the wall.

Come to that, I assume this as I do not know what the bandwidth of Bluetooth is.

I have seen somewhere on here that AD2B (sorry, can't remember the right acronnym) which enables stereo bluetooth, which must be a higher bandwidth that standard bluetooth. Can this be employed for data transfer?

Any information greatly received.

I find when I connect my N800 via BT to my N95-2 that it drops out quite alot.

Get yourself walkinghotspot application and connect the N800 and N95 via wifi. Its more stable and faster. http://www.walkinghotspot.com

Does wifi tethering cost more battery life?

I have tethered my N810 with the N95-3 and the 3.5G HSDPA works beautifully for me.
Music streaming works fine, in fact Video chat aslo is smooth and it doesnt drop out as it used to when I used a Blackjack.

Haven't tried Video streaming. Battery life wise - I found it lasts me a whole day comfortably - not with acontinuous connection, but on and off few times a day for near;y 30 minutes aa a time on each connection.
Haven't tried wired tethering myself.

If you meant A2DP - no you cant use A2DP for data transfer.
A2DP is essentially for playing audio on your N800 / N810 with full stereo profile over bluetooth to a BT receiver (like a Bluetooth headphone).
It is only for stereo audio transmission - not for data transfer. A2DP is one of the profiles in a Bluetooth stack with a set purpose.

Thanks guys.

Mine doesn't drop out at all. Updated to Diablo as well.

It was just video streaming. Audio only is fine as BT seems to cope OK with the bandwidth available. Video, I now know, is too much for smooth playback over BT.

I guess no one has tried a wired connection. I don't even know what would happen if I connect my two babies together. As long as they dont go "poof"
