I don't know if anything changed with the new update, but I think the 'Expunged' message happens if the tablet has spotted a new message but you delete it on gmail before looking at it on the tablet.

So you didn't get a message with subject "Expunged"? ;-)

What happens if you click on that notification message? Does Modest start?

Also ,if you find a pattern to reproduce this, please file a bug in bugs.maemo.org .

no , the subject wasnt expunged...and when it happened i could tap it and it would open the msg as it should. and when i would open the inbox the sender and subject were there as they should be. not sure if its an issue with their server but i switched my account over to use imap (they have an option like gmail) and now my notifications show up fine (so far)

I have the same problem like munky261. Some messages show up as "expunged". I'm using a pop3 server and didn't try imap.

I have this problem when using different POP3 servers. I frequently use Yahoo! Plus pop3 server (SSL POP3S, port 995), as well as "normal authentication" POP3 servers. All messages now show up as 'expunged' and nothing happens if I tap the notification. I have tried removing the local pop cache, cleared out the inbox on the server as well as my n810, to no avail.

I have this problem as well now (oddly). It can't be that I'm downloading them in Thunderbird before I get them either (I open Thunderbird after notifications of email).

I have the same problem. It is annoying. Couldn't they have left the email alone pre diablo??? it worked fine before

It just occurred to me that this happens when Yahoo! mail automatically moved the message to the Junk folder when the message arrived. Anyone seen the same behaviour?
