Hello from a seriously-newbie re Linux. I've installed Scummvm on my N800, and it start fine. However, I can't find any games. The tablet just shows directories for linux, and nothing I've installed on the memory card/s (one internal and one external). I've put the games from the ScummVm site on the external card, and expected that Scumm would just find them (as it does on my Windows PC). However, nothing shows up. Have I installed the games wrong? Or must I somehow put the games in one of the linux directories (using x-term)??? Any advice on how to install games so Scumm can find them will be greatly appreciated!!

open scumm...click add game...select the folder in which you have placed the game.

Thanks, but I've tried what you suggest. That's the problem, the folder in which I place the games doesn't show up when I click on "add game" in ScummVm. I see folders, but only ones that are the OS linux system folders. (And I can't figure out how to place the game/s into those system folders).
But it sounds like from your reply that Scumm should(!) see the folders I create on the memory cards, and into which I've placed the game files. All of which makes me wonder if the problem might be the wrong file extensions on the games (or similar issue)? But I'm using the same game files that my PC version of Scumm DOES see without any problem. I don't suppose one has to set some sort of path command?
Aggh.

check under the /media/mmc1 (for the removable memory card) or /media/mmc2 (for the intenral memory card) when you click ADD and look for the games you placed into the card.

SCUMM only shows folders as you browse around. It won't show files residing in them. Try the primary directory for the game that the game exists in.

Well, the N800 doesn't show me media/mmc1 or media/mmc2 (even though the cards work okay for everything else -- music, pics, etc). It DOES have a directory for just "media," but choosing that results in Scumm saying it can't find any games, and it won't let me drill down to mmc1 or mmc2.
I have directories such as bin, boot, cdrom, dev, etc. But none of these seem readily accessible.
I thought maybe I could click on queen.1c in the file manager and associate it with Scumm. But then the N800 gives me all the programs on the tablet EXCEPT Scummvm (which makes me wonder if there is a problem with the install -- even though the app manager announced that it WAS successfully installed).

It will, just doubleclick it.

Don't SELECT the /media nor the /media/mmc1 (or mmc2). Descend down through them (tap the directory names to go into them) to get to the game.

For example, let's say the game is copied from your CD copy of the game onto your removable memory card in a directory named 'monkey'. Put the card back into the N800's removable slot and close the door. 1) fire up SCUMMVM from the app menu 2) double-tap on 'Add game...' 3) Tap on 'Go up' until you see that the path is now '/' (root directory) 4) double-tap on 'media' 5) double-tap on 'mmc1' 6) You should see the 'monkey' directory--go ahead and SINGLE tap it to highlight it 7) Tap on 'Choose' to see if it'll find the game data.

Now, it COULD be that the game data is a little deeper.. if it says if can't find the game at that folder.. double-tap that folder and try a directory inside that one. (My Day of the Tentacle CD was like that after I copied it up to my N800 to play.)

Thanks to all. Finally got it working! It was (as usual) something too simple to credit at first. Specifically, double tap is very difficult for some reason to get to open the folders. It looked to me as if there were no subfolders. But thanks to danramos' advice, and a bit more patience with the stylus I finally found what I needed. Thanks!

Fantastic! I wish you much wasted time in pleasant old-school Lucas gaming!
