There was a strange bug in mnotify (gmail notifier) after the upgrade to Diablo: it never did an automatic poll, while the manual way worked fine.

It was discussed in another thread: http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...hlight=mnotify

Seems, only few people had this problem. Deleting, reinstalling did not help hat all.

Now I finally found a solution to that.

First, you have to install gconf-editor (Configuration Editor) from the repositories.

Then go to /apps/osso/mnotifyalarm

and delete the key "alarmid": tap and hold with stylus until the menu appears and click "Unset key".

Reboot and mnotify will work fine from now on and will regularly poll your mail account again.

Some notes: Most settings for mnotify are in ~user/apps/mnotify/settings

But those are not all settings, other settings come from the configuration database in /var/lib/gconf

Even if you don't have this particular problem, it may be worth remembering that gconf-database entries survive even a reinstallation and may be the reason for some problems.

Hope it helps!
