* Please go to Applications -> Settings -> Application Manager.
* Now, use the stylus to click on the top left icon of the Application Manager.
* Go to Tools -> Application catalogie...
* Click on Collabora catalogue with your stylus. Now click Edit.
* Does distribution say chinook? Change it to diablo. Now click OK.
* The Application manager should now automatically refresh and check for updates. Now everything should install correctly.

The reason for the above is that I referred you to an .install file which was for Chinook. The Gronmayer distribution list is excellent, but user generated, and it did not include the Diablo entry yet because Collabora does support Diablo. I have added the repository to Gronmayer now.

i have the latest software on my N810 and im runnin pidgin just fine

I'm also running Pidgin on my machine... an N800, running 30-2. I did have to add the Chinook repository to get it, but it installed alright and is working fine. What steps have been taken to add extra repositories to your unit?

Pidgin is in Collabora, too. With telepathy-haze.

I bought the N810 last week and I installed pidgin without a problem. I use it for MSN.
I already have used MSN with this tool.
Just download it from this link on the N800 itself

It fails to update the components (and for good reason, the component folders are missing from diablo on http://packages.collabora.co.uk/maemo/dists/diablo/).

So I have the same problem as quazy -- RTcomm beta won't install because of the wrong versions of the libpurple0 and telepathy-haze.

Yeah then there are 2 repositories with same package name. This sucks.

If you look here and follow these paths here

You'll see e.g. pool/user/t/telepathy-idle/telepathy-idle_0.1.2-1_armel.deb

This becomes http://packages.collabora.co.uk/maem....2-1_armel.deb

You can grab your missing ones manually and install them with dpkg. IIRC thats what I did.

Thanks, got all the packages, but telepathy-haze from there cannot be installed -- the error message is "invalid package" or something like that. So I've had to install from repo, but then RTComm cannot be installed again, because the repo has the lesser version.

Invalid package? Are you sure its correct downloaded? Can you retry to download it? Are you sure your device isn't full? Try $ df -h and notice the / and the memory card's disk space (or use GUI app for this). Good luck, I'm truelly sorry this is such a hassle to install.
