I have followed all of the instructions, checked with my server regarding ports, outgoing, incoming, password etc., and nothing works. The server will not support the Nokia N810. Also spend an hour with a computer technition in town, and he can't figure it out either. I keep getting an error message saying the the password or user name in incorrect. It has been checked with the server, and I am using the correct ones.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I've read in some places where it says you need to put the full e-mail address in the "User name" field.

Other places say you simple need the user name.

This may be dependant on a server setting, but I just don't know.

I can say that my configuration has only the username, not the "@domain.com" part.

Are you sure you have the server settings correct? POP or IMAP? TLS, SSL or none? Port? If needed, is Secure Authentication set properly?

i am assuming that you can access your email account from your main computer/laptop and are using an email program (mail.app outlook express, outlook, etc)

i would go into that mail app and look at each option and then make sure the n810's is the same....

you didnt mention if this was a webmail account (yahoo/gmail/hotmail) or from your isp or from your work... there are detailed guides on how to set up gmail here on the forum if you do a search you should be able to find them fairly easily...

if it is from your work email do they use an exchange server? is it set up for pop/imap access or only web access?

Thank you all!! For some unknown reason, now the email works on the N810, but my Eudora on the PC doesn't!!! Go figure.
