I spent couple of hours tracking down the album art for all the music in my collection, and added it to my id3 tags. After updating the library on my n810 memory card with the newly tagged mp3s, I was little disappointed to see the built media player didn't actually display any of the art I added. So I downloaded Canola.
It seems to be a vast improvement over the built in player. It works well with just fingers (I always have to pull out the stylus for the built in player), it allows me play every song from a particular artist (instead of going through each album individually), etc. It, however, doesn't seem to want to show any cover art either.
I went to the "using canola" page on the canola site, and read under the heading "Tips and Tricks: Album Cover Art": "Install this plugin from our Add ons section and follow the instructions below". It doesn't actually say what add on to install, but I figured out it was the tuning add on. So I installed it. But I still have no option on the media library that says "cover arts and thumbnails". It just says "media folders", and "multiple album entries".
Originally I just installed Canola by downloading the package off the Maemo download site. When I went to install it say it was already installed, just disabled, so enabled it. After the problems with the cover art, I uninstalled all the canola add ons, then canola, installed the repository listed on the canola site, and reinstalled both canola and the tuning add on. But I had the same problem.
I'm running OS version 4.2008.30-2, on an n810 with canola 2 beta 9. I added the images using mp3tag 2.4. The images are all either jpg or png. They are in ID3v2.3 tags.
Any help will be appreciated.

hey - canola doesn't use the cover art directly - but imports into it's own database. Do the following (presuming that you have tuning plugin)
open canola - open "media library" - open "cover arts and thumbnails" - open "updatr cover arts" - select "embedded covers" - press update - wait...

That's what I'm saying. I have the tuning plugin, but there is is no "cover arts and thumbnails" option.

Hi Emcee :

Sorry for the mess: but there's 2 tunings: (unfortunately)

a. Canola-tuning
b. Canola-tuning-plugin

you should install Canola tuning plugin this one integrates into canola.
The first options install 2 apps on the main menu of your tablet.

This should solve the problem, if not let me know!

Marcelo

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry, that's something I left out. I do have Canola-tuning-plugin installed. The application manager lists it as version 0.1.0-maemo2. I saw that there was two separate versions when I was searching the board, but I had downloaded the version listed on the Canola site.

Well, is there at least some way I can manually edit the database?

Do I need to add a new field? If so, what do I name it? And do I add it to audio_albums, or audios? Do I put the full path to the cover art or just a file name for a file in the 'covers' folder? Thanks.
