Ive been reading the forum for the past week (when I bought my N800) so will start with a thanks for the info....

now for the question.
Ive just installed the GPE suite then moved on to syncevolution to sync with funambol. Installed, configured and run fine the contacts all arrived in built-in contact manager but the calender, etc. etc vanished (didnt go anywhere).

I dont mind contacts going to built in manager but would like the calender events and todo to show in GPE.

Any help would be much appriciated or suggestion.

syncevolution is made to sync a evolution database via syncml.

gpe does not use a evolution database.

the only calender app on maemo that do is the one from openedhand's pimlico project:

the biggest two reason for me not using it is:

1. it do not use anything but GMT/UTC for time.

2. the interface for handing events makes smaller then 30 min ones way to small to be comfortably handled by stylus. its just to easy to either not be able to move them around, or move them by accident.

I wouldnt find that a problem but do see a big one for me.

The calender doesnt seem to have alarm/notify option on events. I use calenders to bookmark when system generated events happen (unknown time/date until scheduled), making an alerm, a god send.

I like the design and the fact it can be sync'ed with funambol easily but without alarm its not fof me.

I'll keep searching might go the google route (but wanted not to use a third, third part for syncing)

i think someone had opensync running on the tablet at one point. but i dont recall if the person canned those efforts after tools for google calendar syncing came about, or not.

i would like to see some kind of syncml/funambol sync myself, but im not of any ability to get opensync going on the tablets (preferably with some kind of gui interface for configuration).
