There's a new Panucci deb available here, it contains a few bugfixes and a new --debug command line option.

This is the way we determine if the application is running on maemo and it seems that in your case it's trying to build the non-maemo gui.

If that file doesn't exist try creating it (as root):
Code:
touch /etc/osso_software_version
Then try running panucci again.

Thanks for the report,

Indeed that file did not exist. Not sure why... Now I run into the next issue:

~ $ panucci
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/panucci", line 29, in <module>
panucci.run(filename=filename, debug=debug)
File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/panucci/panucci.py", line 965, in run

File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/panucci/panucci.py", line 341, in make_main_window

menu_settings_lock_progress.set_active(self.lock_p rogress)

~ $

Am I the only one where this doesn't work?

Frank

could you list what pyhon related packages you have installed (they should show up in application manager)?

as the player works here, i could compare that to what i have and see if i spot anything specific.

Run the following (as root) and let me know if it works:
Code:
GCONF_CONFIG_SOURCE=`gconftool-2 --get-default-source` gconftool-2 --makefile-install-rule /etc/gconf/schemas/panucci.schemas
killall gconfd-2

First of all there was no 'panucci.schemas' filke on my machine. It is not in the deb too. So I copied this from Garage. But then I got more errors playing your commands.

Not sure what is going on but I nearly gave up...

I removed the app and re-installle from Extras repo. Now it works... no clue what has changed.

thanks anyway...

I have a question and I don't want to deviate from the subject at hand to much but what are peoples prefrences on audio books? For example, do you prefer fiction or non-fiction. I only need one answer but more would be great and I apologize to the the poster of this forum for distracting from the main subject.

I would start a new thread and link it here. that way you're not asking people to spam this thread with answers.
