ok so i just got my N810 an hour ago. i have been doing research on this forum for a month or so and decideded to go get one. im loving it so far, but i do have 2 questions that i couldnt find the answer to.
1. does anyone know the proper settings for yahoo email on my device?
2. i tried to install fring and it wouldnt because of missing packages?? please help a rookie out. thanks guys and girls!

1-No clue, I use gmail :P
2-You are probably missing repositories, try installing other stuff from maemo, then install fring. if it doesn't work post the details that you are given when the error comes up, makes it easier to help.

1) if you have a pop or imap account with yahoo, you can use it using the inbuilt email client modest. otherwise you have to use the web.
2) what was the packages mentioned as missing?

I have successfully installed Fring.
But when using SIP, the builtin VOIP application has a better audio quality than fring, in the latter the sound is some interrupted and the builtin VOIP application is clear.

I did some more research and going to return it tomorrow and get the
wimax one since its launching in chicago soon. man I love this thing!

Maybe this can be answered too, but since you bought the N810 did you get the WiMAX edition or just the WiFi one? Are they loading either one with the latest updated OS? I'm curious as to what people are working with.

From my understanding the Wimax version is loaded with the newest software. It also updates ota. Ill post when I get my Wimax one tomorrow.

Make sure to post some speed tests if you are using Xohm. Also let us know your area and if you are in coverage. I would be really interested to know how its working for you.
