The difference may be that for that complexity commercial apps may well be necessary (such as Docs to Go for the Palm), but I'm not sure there is enough of a user base to interest a commercial developer.
native word, powerpoint, excel, or something like that. it would surely replace my laptop.

I'm going to go for a better screen -- 5.6" 1280x800 from the U820 would be nice in a nearly N800-sized device, but a 4.5" or so 1024x600 would be nice, and more reasonable.

Abandon the myth of pocketability and make a bigger but still small and thin tablet with a much bigger screen size, like twice the current size. Then, for one thing, people would no longer confuse the tablet with a phone..
