So I have a very important question...
Is there currently a bluetooth storage device which would compensate for the memory limitations of the N810? I'm not clear on whether or not the 770 and 800 have bluetooth, but this may very well pertain to those as well. So in the interest of making everyones lives so much more easier could someone let me know whats going on with bluetooth storage. I heard about 'BluOnyx', but I couldn't find anything recent about it and apparently toshiba and Seagate were also in the works on a MSD(Mobile Storage Device). So if anyone has anymore information on these things could you be the most awesomest person ever and tell us about it.

Thanks a bunch.

I occasionally use my n800 to view pictures taken with my n95 camera phone. The transfer process is painful over bluetooth, as it is when pushing files over BT from my PC. It is just fine for sending in the background when I don't have a cable handy, or really small files. But for anything substantial, the USB cable or FTP over WiFi is much faster.

I saw much the same, but I was hoping that they may have already released something. It seems BT storage devices have been in the works for quite a while. I read about one going as far back as '02, but I think it may have been shafted.

I suppose the use of the USB interface could very well be the only alternative for the space limitations of the N810, excluding the very ingenious SD Kit put out by Craves1.

What device would you recommend as an alternative to Craves1's N810 modifications? The main thought is to have at least 32Gigs of space at arms length. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

and maybe with a protocol better suited for storing files. I have yet to find a device (and probably won't because this seems more like an OBEX protocol thing) that can read anything over bluetooth without having to save it to the local device first.

your thinking about something like flipping thru a photo album on a external device?

given that the image would have to be transferred over to the viewer, then stored in ram while viewing, that makes some level of sense.

I currently have 16gb via a micro SD in my n810 (from memorybits - see the deals forum). I also have a host mode adapter which works with nearly anything FAT formatted. And a WiFi storage router (add a laptop hard drive inside or use either or both USB port, works master or slave, and I think WDS, but I haven't really used it that much). These routers are made by netgear, linksys, or d-link.

I also ported webdav (box.net/iDisk, etc.) to the n810 but haven't released it - it is on my todo list.

Bluetooth is slow. What are you after exactly, in both capacity and speed?
